K-Tech, Race, Steering, Damper
K-Tech Suspension Race Steering Dampers are precision crafted to exacting tolerances for incredible control and consistent performance under the most demanding race conditions. The bodies of the K-Tech linear steering dampers are made from aerospace grade 7075 aluminum which is CNC machined and reamed to a tolerance of 5 microns, and then highly polished to a high gloss to reduce friction (internal surfaces). The entire body of the damper is then anodized for corrosion resistance and great looks. The internal expansion reservoir allows for heated oil expansion, and automatically moves cool oil back to the damper body.
The specially selected CK45 steel piston rod has superior strength and hardness, and allows for size accuracy and concentricity. This helps to minimize wear and reduce friction. The piston rod is also highly polished, and then hard coated for reduced friction. The race damper has an aluminum anodized adjuster rod. Race dampers also feature a billet adjustment knob.
The ball joint end is self-lubricating to eliminate grease nipples, and sourced from Japan. Kits for specific motorcycles will include a K-Tech Suspension linear steering damper (in the required length and stroke) as well as precision CNC machined billet aluminum brackets, anodized for protection, and the necessary hardware for installation to your machine. K-Tech Suspension linear steering dampers are also available separately as replacements or for custom applications.
