The 2002 Honda RC51 (VTR1000SP2), also known as the SP2, was an updated version of the V-twin superbike, featuring significant upgrades derived from racing development. Key improvements included a power increase from larger 62mm throttle bodies, better fuel injection, and a redesigned chassis with a longer swingarm and sharper handling geometry. This resulted in a more potent and responsive machine that weighed about 8 pounds less than its predecessor.
