The R6 is hands down the most popular all around track bike ever!
There is a reason you see so many of them on track.  EDR Performance has built well OVER 250+ R6 engines alone! More than any single shop/builder we know of. With 30+ years of building championship winning engines, Eric Dorn, our founder/engine builder has developed the most powerful and reliable R6 supersport legal build out there! Our Supersport engines are used around the world and won hundreds of championship, numerous national championships and destroyed track records everywhere. Our engines are used in race bikes, track day bikes, street bikes and even mini sprint/dwarf cars. 



The EDR R6 Superport Engine package is built on YOUR supplied core/stock engine. if you wish to purchase an outright engine for us to use so you can keep yours, you will have to click the "no core supplied" option for the additional cost of a stock engine to start with, once completed with our supporting modifications/tuning you will have anywhere from 124-130+whp!!

7. What does this build include? 

1. We offer this build for 2006-2024 R6 bike's. While the 2006-2007, 2008-2016 and 2017+ vary a little bit, they are overall the same engine package.  We highly recommend you have a lower mile bike as it wont need additional unseen repairs or parts. *06-07 are additional +$700 to update oem parts Yamaha updated in 2008

2. Turn around time varies. We suggest you ship us your engine in good running condition to ensure best result and turn around. Most ship in their engines only, however we can also work with you should you wanna ship the bike completely to have us R/R engine, dyno break in, tune, etc Contact us for this

3. Maintenance is IDENTICAL TO STOCK! NO bullshit, no special needs. The only thing that is vital is 
A: Bike must be up to temp before riding it (even stock you should do this) Oil temp is VITAL
B. Run a good engine out (We use Motul 300v 5w40) 
C run the PROPER FUEL for what we built and tuned it for! If you had us build and tuned for race fuel, then run that. Yes you can run our R6 Superports on 92 pump gas however we don't really recommend for best reliability as pump gas is so inconsistent. Also we must know this ahead of build as we build and tune the differently for the ability to safely run 92-93 pump fuel  Service intervals are simple, we recommend checking/cleaning/Replacing spark plugs once a year, valve inspection once every two years and so forth.

4. Fuel again can vary, we can tailor it to run Pump 92, Pump 100, VP U4.4, VP MR12, VP MRXO1, VP T4, etc. Again the most important aspect is you commit to your fuel choice and we must confirm this with you ahead of build. MOST of our EDR Supersport engine clients run a mix 50/50 of super unleaded and 100 octane race fuel (Sunoco 100 or VP u4.4) that is super easy to get, does not cost much (raises fuel price for a track day by maybe $40) the most power will be based off a MR12 fuel build and tune requiring you run pure MR12 for this. *again contact us for dual/multiple map options

5. Tuning options are many. We include our EDR6SS ECU base tune with this package, however as you know the R6 electronics on the 06-16 gen are pretty limited so MOST of our 06-16 R6 owners have us install/tune a piggy back like the Rapidbike Racing which is what we use the most, these systems allow you to add a quick shifter, adjust engine braking, add launch control and really nice is the addition of traction control! Also most run the Rapidbike MyTuning (Active real time auto tune) to further ensure reliability since fuel quality can vary and it will help adjust our base map tune from summer to winter. The 2017+ builds we typically do 100% in the ecu with adding race tools for quick shifter up and down, LC, EB strategies, Pit limiter and warm up features

6. Other items needed and to be discussed with EDR are the following
A: Improved cooling. We have 2 custom oversized radiators for the R6 made for us out of Italy. The standard oversized EDR water only radiator is our standard oversized water radiator, these are currently $2,100 complete and drastically help maintain water temps. Many, in hot climate areas will upgrade even further to our full WSS EVO 3 piece oversized radiator plus oversized oil cooler! The oil cooler is a massive improvement in controlling and maintaining oil temps which are vital on the R6 engines when pushed over 130 rwhp!  These EVO radiators are extremely large so you will need some trimming on bodywork and require addition EDR modifications to be used on the street. These run $4,550 complete.  We can have mounts for a cooling fan for those in extreme temps or street builds, street builds 100% will need the fan option for stop lights, etc. includes race kit silicone hoses in blue, optional colors available at additional price. 

B: GOOD full exhaust, again the exhaust is 100% vital on these we have a few options for them. Eric, our engine builder/tuner insist on the "long tube" style exhaust on these, not the shorty systems. We see much better midrange and acceleration with these. We have great results with the exclusive EDR Designed Vandemon full titanium system as well as the Akrapovic EVO full titanium and even the Spark WSBK Konix system. The EDR Vandemon full titanium system is currently $2,000, the Akrapovic Titanium is $2,250 and the Spark WSBK Titanium is $2,150 they also do offer a similar system in SS only that is only $1,450. You can of course use your own exhaust, but please discuss with us ahead of time, some do not clear the larger EDR Kit radiator. 

C: Velocity stacks, our EDR Velocity stacks are 100% required on 2008+ gen R6 (no option 06-07). These run $699-799/set

D: Good air filter is vital. We use the DNA Racing filter. MWR WSBK is an option for race use only however it does require more maintenance with cleaning once a month! 

E. Good chain sprocket, braking, etc remember you are adding more power and speed! Make sure you have the rest of the bike up to speed! 

7. This package is a refresh of YOUR SUPPLIED running engine and an ecu EDR6SS tune package.
It will include but not limited to, complete engine teardown, inspection, cleaning of all engine components and rebuild into a R6 Supersport.

Build parts include:
-EDR SS Cylinder head with full radius valve job,
-Timed oem camshafts
-EDR hi compression race kit head gasket
-EDR complete new clutch kit
-OEM Yamaha: Gaskets, Seals, Rod, Crank Bearings, Rings, Rod Bolts, valve springs, valve spring retainers, keepers and valve guide seals


8. Optional upgrades:
A: EDR spec corsa billet slipper clutch, we have worked with them to have one hold up to 130+rwhp $895
B; Custom Close ratio gear sets, replacement billet gears that are redesigned to ensure quicker shifts and the the ratios closer allows for much faster acceleration *may not be legal in your Org: $2,399
C. Samco Race Kit hose kit. This kit is highly recommended to help reduce cooling temps. Available in multiple colors from $449 for the kit + clamp kit
D. (06-16 Gen) Rapidbike Racing fuel + ignition timing with EDR636 base map $850, add on quick shifter $350, add on YouTune (Add traction control, launch control, monitors) $350 and MyTuning auto tune system $350
E: EDR Spec oversized radiator, required: Standard oversized radiator $2,199  or Oversized water + oil cooler $3,399 or full WSS EVO 3 piece oversized radiator + full oil cooler $4,399
F: EDR spec Vandemon full titanium exhaust system $2,199

*This is based on YOUR supplied core stock 100% complete engine. The core engine must be a good condition lower mile currently running stock engine. EDR has complete stock engines to offer should you not want to send yours in or source one. Pricing is +$3,500 06-16 gen or +$4,500 2017+ gen additional if you do not want to send your engine in to build on. Please note once we begin on your engine build we cannot give any cancelation or refunds!
